First Thing's First

I'm giving this whole blog idea another shot. I quite enjoy doing crafty little things, and I've recently decided I need to spend more time doing things that I'm excited about. Most of the time mind you, I feel like I have no time to breath, let alone sit and do something FUN! So....why not do those things I call fun AND write about it!

I created this page a few weeks ago and had planned to make it real pretty before I actually went ahead and started posting, but heck, what am I waiting for? It's the beginning of December and I took the time to get some decorating done. It only seemed fitting to take some pictures and throw a quick post up to get me started.

Now, I made this blog with the intentions of posting solely about crafts that I make, but there's some other activities I enjoy that may be able to fit in the "crafty" zone. (Example. My Christmas decorating). I love to bake. Put me in a kitchen and ask me to make you supper..that's another story. I'm likely to burn down the house. Ask me to make you a mean little dessert, however, and I've got it covered! Having said that, I'm thinking I'll have a D.I.Y. section, a baking section, and maybe a miscellaneous "I'm feeling crafty but this isn't really a craft" section. Sound good? Good!

Enough's enough..Let's get to the point! I took a few pictures to give you an idea of what I've done to get into the festive spirit. Bare with me --my camera isn't amazing. (We're saving up for a fancy one).

Everything I got for the coffee table is from the dollar store! Honestly, I only went into the store for batteries --and then I came out with TWO bags full of decorations. Yep.

I also got some supplies to make a homemade Christmas wreath. I just need to get a Styrofoam ring and some hot glue and I'm good to go! Stay tuned for a post about that crafty craft.

Is this tree not the cutest tree you've ever seen?? I found this little guy and all of it's mini ornaments at Target. Call me crazy, but the fact that you can buy a mini set of lights, mini decorations, mini anything for your mini Christmas tree, blows my mind! I got so into the whole "mini" idea that I even threw some mini candy canes underneath the tree for a finishing touch!

We had a real tree last year, and I had our stockings up right behind it. The placement worked out perfectly this year, so I just tried to hang them in the same spot. I'm not sure what or how I was measuring last year, though..because those are not evenly spaced. That's okay, I'm just trying to be different? You'll notice one of these things is not like the other..I'll admit, our puppy has his own stocking, and yes, his was the fullest stocking last year. We are crazy dog people, and we are proud of it!

This soap doesn't have a Christmas-y smell, but it had a bit of a Christmas-y color to it, so I went for it! They're also from the dollar store, and that is all I have to say about that!

Remember that time I asked you to bare with me for the lack of great camera? I better ask the same for the lack of my writing skills. I'll improve, I promise!

Keep On Krafting,
-Britt
