Have you heard?

Hello!

I uploaded the photos for this post a long time ago, and --again, fell out of the habit of writing and/or blogging. Today I decided to log in, noticed this draft and decided I had better get typing!

So there's a company in the UK that creates and sells really cute jewelry and I loved their rings so much I just had to buy some. With the exchange rate and shipping/handling things can get a little pricey, so I try to resist when it comes to ordering outside of Canada or the US. This time was another exception..

I loved so many of their rings, but I was able to narrow it down to my two favourites. I know that there is a kind of unwritten rule for mixing golds and silvers (that is still a thing..right?), but I actually kind of like mixing them! Most of my rings are silver, but this starfish ring really stood out to me and it just seems to go so nicely with silver. I don't often wear these two rings together, but I snapped a quick photo just for you.

I guess I forgot to model the startifsh ring on alone, but below is one of the dolphin ring on and a closer look at the starfish. Both of these rings have some give to them so you can size them to fit your finger perfectly --great idea!

Now, after my short ramble I suppose I should provide you with more information about the actual company! They are called Lvndr, and as I mentioned above --they are based in the UK. Although all I have to show you are rings, they do sell much more than that! I will provide a link to their website below so you can check them out for yourself. Enjoy!

Until next time,

Another phone case?!

Well well,
This post is long overdue! Sometimes it is difficult to get yourself out of a funk and to find your flow of words, and I'm afraid that is what has happened to me over the past few weeks. Perhaps I'm still trying to find that flow, but I've decided just to type everything that comes to mind and hope something comes of it!

Now, to the point: Those of you who know me, know I have a slight addiction to cell phones and cell phone cases. I've been following an artist who hand paints a load of different phone case models, makes jewelry, clothing, etc. since early last year. You may know of her, she has one of the most popular shops on www.bigcartel.com! She is known as OHABIOH.

I purchased one of her hand painted cases last winter and believe it or not --stopped buying phone cases for months because I loved it so much! Unfortunately my phone that I had smashed this summer (surprise, surprise), so I switched to an iphone and was no longer able to use my previous case.

After waiting a few months, I decided it was time to treat myself again. I have a white phone and decided to get matching white lines on my case this time because I think it almost looks like lace!

I also purchased some bracelets from Abi this time around, and I love them! I wear both of them almost every day!  The seashell one was supposed to be an anklet but since winter weather has arrived I decided to wear it on my wrist instead and it works perfectly.

I like to wear both of these bracelets on their own some days, and they also go really nice stacked with many other bracelets. In hindsight --I should have taken some photos to show you the other bracelets I like to stack them with. Buuuut, I didn't!

So that's that. I will link Abi's store at the bottom of this post so you can check out her other items!

Until next time,
Britt <3

New Goodies in the Mail!

It's that time again! I received a couple goodies in the mail this week and I am so excited to share them with you! Knowing how much it means to me when I have customers purchase from my shop, I really wanted to reciprocate that to my fellow jewelers out there!

Similar to the saying "every penny counts", I believe every share counts, too. Having said that, I really want to take this opportunity to share what I have received from the lovely Kinipela Jewelry, and continue to do so in the future with other items I receive!

These are the items I received from Jennifer --an arrow bracelet and a cute little keychain!

I love the colors in the bracelet so much! If someone were to ask me what my favorite color is, I would say pink or purple, but I have such a soft spot for teal/turquoise/blue! I've been trying to find some fun clasps for bracelets that I make lately, and let me just say --the clasp Jennifer has included on this bracelet is super cute! It's a little arrow that you can slip through the openings to secure it around your wrist.

Jennifer also sent me a little keychain, and I love it! I put it on my keys right away. I carry so much in my purse and I always have such a hard time finding my keys among it all! This has helped tremendously! I also love that the colors in he keychain follow the color scheme of the bracelet (My secret favorite colors!).

And that is all I have for you today, my friends!
Until next time,

My Creations

What's a whole new blog section without a good introduction?

I've decided that along with a page dedicated to reviewing products, I would include one that is dedicated to products that I have created! Eventually I will be organized enough to have scheduled posts for each section, but for now --I will try to post roughly once a week.

I've always had a crafty side to me, but I hadn't considered selling my items until this year. I tend to stick to the "hippy style" of jewelry, but sometimes I will throw a dainty chain bracelet or necklace in the mix.

Below, I will leave you with a few pictures of my products and a link to my shop if you want to have a look!
A bundle of everything!

Pink Chevron Bracelet Review

Don't you just love when you check the mail and there is a package there for you?! It is seriously one of my favorite things in life.

Having said that, I received my bracelet from Blair of Monsterrs Boutique last week! In attempt to revamp my blog, I've decided to do some reviews of product from my fellow crafters our there as well as some posts to keep you updated on my product!

Those of you who know me, know that pink is one of my favorite colors so when I saw that Blair had made this bracelet, I just had to order it! I love love love this combination of colors together, and the bright pinks are perfect for the summer!

In the photo below you can see the bracelet as well as Blair's business card which she included in the package:
Both process and ship time were very reasonable. I'll be honest --I wasn't quite paying attention to how many days it actually took to arrive, I just remember thinking to myself "Whoa. that was fast!" when it got here.

Just below are two more photos I took of my new bracelet. The tension throughout the whole bracelet is so consistent --something that isn't always easy to accomplish. You can tell that she took her time and put the effort into making this one!

The size was something else that was great. It fit perfectly around my wrist, and the tails were long enough to tie around my ankle with room to spare! I liked it so much on my ankle that I decided to keep it on as an anklet!

So, in case you couldn't tell by the way I've been going on about this item, I am one happy customer! The quality of the item is great and I couldn't have asked for a better interaction with the owner of this shop!

Thank you to Blair for the awesome bracelet, and thank you to my readers for following along! :)

Until next time,
Britt ♥

My First Mug Cozy!

I finally did it! I learned how to crochet and I made a my very own mug cozy! If you follow this link: http://www.tutusteaparties.com/2012/01/mug-cozy-free-crochet-pattern.html , you can find the pattern I used. In that pattern it suggests to measure a fixed spot for the button and use the button hole to secure it around your mug, BUT I decided to switch it up. I sewed a button and some white elastic right where the button hole was, and one more button on the opposite end of the cozy. I did this so I could use it no matter what size mug I use!

Ideally, I would like to make loads of these and maybe even try to sell them some day! That may be a bit far fetched..but hey --a girl can dream, right?

In any case, here are some pictures I took of the process:
I can't wait to make even more!

Dish Cloths, Galore!

Well Folks, it's that time of year! (What time of year? That our inner-grandmother-selves come out, and we knit?) Yep.

It wouldn't be fair of me to go on saying I knit a LOT, but I do try. There's just something about it that seems so ...relaxing? Instead of giving myself large and/or difficult knitting projects to work on, I've decided to just work on pumping out the dish cloths. I mean, who could ever have too many dish cloths?!

For this one, I'm just using a nice purple color with 4.5mm (US 7) needles. I can't for the life of me remember where I found the pattern that I'm using, and I am in no position to reproduce a pattern, so I will just briefly tell you how I make them in paragraph form:

I usually start by casting on three stitches, and then for each row after that, I knit two and then YO, and then knit the rest of the row. I repeat this until I have roughly 46 stitches on the needle. Once I get to this point, for each row after that I knit one, knit two stitches together, YO, knit two stitches together, and then knit the rest of the row. Once I get down to two stitches on the needle, I cast off  and whala!

This is my latest dish cloth, which is about half finished
Things I've learned this post:
-I should learn how to write out a knitting pattern
-Whala isn't really a word

Until next time,
